Drumming Resume:

8 year old Johnny's favorite thing to do was to take his drum sticks, a little red wagon full of Tupperware, a record player and a 78rpm single of the Hawaii 5-0 theme song to his friend JJ's house where they would play along. After destroying a complete set of Tupperware, mom and dad decided it would be better to get the little angel a real drum set. Years later he is still playing, only now he carts his drums in an Audi turbo wagon listens to an iPod.

Professional experience ranges from original recording and showcase projects to shameless dance bands. Projects included pop-funk-metal with Paradox, roots-rock in August Heat, groove-world-beat fun with Live Culture, dark alt-pop in The Believers and pop metal with Kronic. As a member of "Monterey's best cover band" The Cubes, featuring Tom Ayres (of Persephone's Bee's), the band perfected the seamless rock-n-roll dynamic show set of non-stop dance music. He took the experience and formed his own cover band; The Joystix, aka The Free Radicals.

Current projects include San Francisco institution The Gun and Doll Show and a Drum n' Bass improvisational project. John also does fill-in shows with many bands including New Champions (blues-funk-blue eyed soul), Stormin' Norman and The Cyclones (roots rock), Young Presidents (rock), Jive Hounds (funk), Erotica (glam), Red Beans and Rice (southern Blues), Broadway Band (blues), Money Band (#1 hits) and Tony Miles Band (reggae).

John is available for live shows, studio projects and lessons.
